Martial Arts Home Training – Don't Make This Mistake!
Home training is a MUST in the martial arts nowadays… but are you making a big mistake? Here’s how to fix it!

The big mistake in martial arts home training is only practicing to win and not to lose! When you forget that a bad guy will hit you back, you drop your hands and stop moving… which builds a dangerous habit.
So, add an exit plan. Here’s the rule– add one move to everything you do to help you escape safely. That can mean–
STEP OUT. Create distance by either stepping back, forward, or to the side with a pivot. Hit and move!
BLOCK OUT. Always finish your combos by putting your guard back up. Protect yourself at all times!
HIT OUT. Throw one extra strike after every combo just to keep the bad guy distracted.
Of course, all three of these ideas work best TOGETHER. So, step, block and hit in one move.
The trick is to use your imagination to make your imaginary attacker as real as possible. If you do, and if you practice your exit plan, then you will be building a powerful self-defense habit.
Remember–if you only practicing winning, you’re going to end up losing! 🙂
